2014 CSA Week 4: June 24th-June 29th
Happy Summer everyone!  The garden is really growing with lots of hot weather vegetables getting ripe, beautiful to look at and delicious! This week, look out for yellow crookneck squashyellow and green zucchiniwhite, yellow and green scallop (pattypan) squash,red candy and sweet white onionsturnipspurple basil, lemon basil, mint, asian eggplants, and spring sweet peas.  Sites that don’t get certain items this week will receive them next week so don’t worry if some of these items were not in your share bags. Get ready for lots of heirloom tomatoes very soon….Your share will continue to grow and grow as the season progresses!

 

Important Farm Pick up and Delivery Information
CSABucks Members & Traditional CSA Members Picking Up at Fair Oaks – This week, the farm store will be open on Friday, 3pm -6pm, and Sunday, 10am -2pm.  We are opening and closing the farm store earlier this sunday so we can prepare for our first Field-to-Plate Tasting Dinner this season!  For those of you who haven’t yet signed up, you don’t want to miss Chef Mackenzie Kitburi who will be cooking up a veritable feast which is sure to delight the culinary senses!  There is still room to sign up so we hope to see you there!
Traditional CSA Members —  Please don’t forget to leave an empty bag at your drop site when you come to collect your share each week so we can fill it with the next week’s share!  We wouldn’t want you to have to skip a share because there is no bag for us to fill.

Glasswork Demo– This Sunday, June 29th, one of our CSA Members, Trisha Wells, will be on hand at the farm store in Aldie from 10-2pm with her beautiful glass pieces. She’ll be demonstrating the creation of her handcrafted jewelry and pattered glassware and will have items available for purchase.
