Field to Plate Dinner FAQ’s

Where are the ingredients sourced?

We will be sourcing our highlighted ingredients for each Field to Plate Dinner straight from East Lynn Farm’s fields, gardens, and pastures.

East Lynn Farm consists of a total 143 acres with four acres dedicated to sustainably growing heirloom variety vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers, 100 acres of pasture for our livestock and nearly 40 acres for hay production.

During our growing season from May ’til late October, we harvest many sustainably-grown flowers, fruits, and vegetables and raise a variety of animals including black-Angus cattle, chickens, ducks, and sheep. All of our animals are 100% pasture-raised on our verdant fields.

In addition to the highlighted items, we will also source as many additional ingredients as possible straight from East Lynn. Otherwise, the additional ingredients needed for the menu will be sourced from our neighboring farms and producers.

How is East Lynn Farm committed to sustainable farming practices?

Here at East Lynn, we do not use any synthetic, non-organic herbicides or pesticides, and we fertilize our growing fields only with compost made from organic matter (e.g., leaves, straw, hay, spent vegetables and flowers) combined with aged manure from our livestock. Each week, we survey our fields and harvest our crops at their peak flavor and freshness to ensure you’re getting the best produce on our farm.

Who will be preparing the meal?

We’ll be working alongside the team at Bluewater Kitchen to bring together the freshest ingredients from our field and the unique and delicious flavors their team has become recognized for in the Loudoun County and Greater Washington D.C. area.

Each dinner will feature a unique field-to-plate menu crafted by Bluewater Kitchen‘s chefs that highlights a vegetable from our gardens, protein from our pastures, and local beer from Crooked Run Brewing and Northern Virginia wines.
